Buy Car parts online at PartsAvatar Auto Parts Canada and follow car mileage increasing tips here !!
Want a high
mileage vehicle? Head over to PartsAvatar car engine parts and maintain your vehicle like a pro with simple tips!!
There are various ways by which you can simply increase
your car’s mileage. you must alter your bad driving habits first because we are
partially or fully responsible for our car’s bad health and degrading fuel
efficiency.
Upgrade your car’s parts here at PartsAvatar Auto Parts and you can also consider brands
like Spectra parts for better fuel tanks’ optimization. No one wants to ride a
vehicle with poor mileage because it is total waste of money and fuel as well.
This not only affects the efficiency of your car but will also result in
premature damage to some of the important and expensive car components.
Check out some easy yet important tips to increase gas
mileage of your vehicle!
Routine
maintenance is very important!!
Believe it or not but routine maintenance of your car
plays pivotal role in its driveability. Make a check list of must be checked
items and make sure to keep an eye on them daily.
The daily checklist must include- checking tire
pressure( you will be busted on road due to flat tire!), lubricating the
vehicle with oil( never keep your engine, oil hungry, if and only if you want
to degrade your engine and want expensive auto parts replacement), also don’t
forget cooling fluids such as coolants/antifreezes in order to maintain optimum
temperature of your car.
There are various other tasks that you can include in
your checklist. This all depends upon your requirements, so make sure to keep a
look at your car’s behaviour.
Check the
fluids in your car
Whether you are going for a routine maintenance or are
visiting the garage for a scheduled maintenance after 15000 miles, you must get
your car fluids checked.
Every car fluid has its own functioning so make sure
to flush the old fluid if it is showing you red flag. Check the brake fluid
level. This is because, bubbly brake fluid or low level of brake fluids result
in inappropriate performance by car brakes, which is not good when it comes to
your safety! It usually results in hard braking.
Make sure to check the transmission fluid that might
need to be flushed if and only if your car manual suggests you to do so. Never
ignore your car manual’s suggestions especially when you are newbie when it
comes to cars.
Black flush the radiator from the engine side with a
garden hose and make sure to check the coolant strength.
Also, check the power steering fluid. Why should the
washer fluids suffer when we are checking every fluid level in our car?
Especially if you need to clean your windshield almost every day due to
climate, then you must get your washer fluid refilled.
Giving a
thorough check !
Now, coming to the main task. Though you cant include
it in your daily maintenance checklist but if you have pre planned your car
maintenance schedule after a long period, then you must.
These tasks include getting your spark plugs checked(
without spark plugs, your car wont move an inch!), check the distributor cap(
it shouldn’t be loose) and the rotor, inspect the oxygen sensors of your car
and make sure to replace oxygen
sensors if they are in demand of replacement. Also while doing inner inspection,
make sure to check the car for leaks. This is because leaks are car’s enemies
and they pave way to expensive car damages.
Filters
shouldn’t be dirty
Filters act as purifier for our cars. Their are
various filters for specific purposes like fuel filters, air filters, cabin air
filter, oil filter etc. they screen out the impurities or micro substances that
hamper with the chemical properties of air, fuel or oil. This is why the
clogged filters are often the reason behind bad car mileage.
Don’t drive your car with dirty or clogged filter, get
them cleaned or at once, replace them. Filters are economical to purchase, but
the damage done by them could cost you thousands of dollars. So, you can make
your choice.
Check the
brakes and tire wear
When was the last time you instructed your mechanic to
check car brakes. car brakes are very important auto part that need to be
inspected as it ensures our life safety.
You must also check the tire wear pattern. This is
because the irregular tire wear not only results in premature tire damages but
also disturbs the mileage. Moreover the under inflated tires also give way to
premature tire wear. Tires are one of the most expensive part of car to be
replaced. So, make sure to check them too.
Get rid of
that extra weight
Get rid of that weight at once, that have made its room
for past few years. This is because it is unnecessarily sitting in there doing
nothing but degrading your car’s mileage.
The heavier the car, the greater will be its thirst.
Dump that old gears you have been storing in your car in your garage, spare tire
that’s useless now or any other thing that is nothing but an extra weight.
Also, make sure to keep an eye on your driving habits.
Our driving habits like slamming on brakes, not letting the engine get warm
while starting, rash driving, driving on empty tank cost us a damaged car
mileage.
So, what do you choose, the choice is all yours!

Replacing few worn out
Auto parts can increase your car’s fuel economy. Save money and time by buying
performance auto parts at Partsavatar Car parts!
It has been found that
vehicles can burn up to 30 % more fuel if proper maintenance is not performed on
regular basis. We all know and almost every car expert advises to maintain and
check your car daily but we give it a deaf ear.
Gas prices are rising
and they are also a major contributing factor in global warming. But you don’t
have to sell your car or scrap it out to get a fuel efficient hybrid or
electric car. All you need to do is to give a thorough
check to your check and inspect if there is a worn auto part that is become hindrance
in the way of better mileage. Just replace the auto parts and you will get your
fuel economy back!
Let us read the
important tips to increase car’s Mpg.
Regular
maintenance of tires
You will use less gas
if you keep your vehicle tuned and running like it should by regularly monitoring
car’s tires.
Make sure that your
tires are inflated properly otherwise not only the fuel economy will degrade
but tires will also suffer premature wear. Please note that under inflated
tires burn more fuel than normal ones. Install tire pressure monitoring
system sensors which help in monitoring tire’s inflation level.
Inspect and replace the car's chassis and suspension parts for any damage sign or misalignment issue. Bent
wheels, worn shocks, broken spring and axles often contribute in drive train
drag.
So properly inflate
tires and replace worn out chassis and suspension components for better mpg.
Take
it Slow
A popular saying “Slow and steady wins the
race” fits perfectly in fuel economy context. Continuously increasing and
decreasing acceleration and braking heavily effects car’s fuel economy. Drive
smoothly. By applying light throttle and avoiding heavy braking, you can reduce
both fuel consumption and wear and tear. Driving techniques influence car’s
fuel economy by 30 percent as per a study.
Automakers have
introduced cruise control to maintain a constant speed on highways. So, use
cruise control and drive slow and smooth with ease.
Trucks drivers should
beware as trucks eat more gas at higher speeds.
Change
octane if you can
Consult your owner
manual for any information you need. If your owner’s manual says “regular oil”
it means it. Putting unnecessarily premium or
grade gas in car is utter waste of money. You don’t need to
put high octane petrol or gas unless you are using a high compression engine.
It won’t have much
impact on fuel economy but at least your money would be saved. So use a good
brand gas suggested by your car’s manual with detergent additives to keep your
system clean.
Replace
mass air flow sensors
car's Mass air flow sensor
measures the amount of air flow entering the engine and sends that information
to the engine computer which regulates fuel injection, ignition system and
transmission shifting. A faulty sensor will send incorrect signal to the
computer and impacts fuel economy gravely.
Take
it Easy on AC!
Air conditioning often
makes your cars or trucks use more gas. So it is better to turn it off when you
can.
Reduce the load on A/C
by parking the car in the shade so that it doesn’t heat up. If you running an
errand or making short trips then don’t put unnecessary load on A/c, let it
idle wherever you can.
Replacing
oxygen sensors
Oxygen sensors play
pivotal role in conserving gas. Oxygen sensors of car monitor the exhaust flow,
send data to engine computer and adjust fuel injection level. A faulty oxygen
sensor can cause serious fuel economy issues so always know which factors are
responsible for a faulty oxygen sensor.
In some cases, the car
will seem to be just running fine with faulty oxygen sensor but the gas will be
burning in the expensive catalytic converter instead of engine. Catalytic converter repair and
replacement often empties wallet so don’t let it
happen. Replacing car's oxygen sensor
is much economical than catalytic converters.
Replacing
Spark plugs
Spark plugs work in an
incredible hostile environment. If you have got more than 30000 miles on yours,
change them. The main function of spark plugs is to ignite air fuel mixture in
engine combustion chamber. Increased voltage can cause the spark plugs to overload
and fail, resulting in loss of fuel economy.
Engine will start
running cleaner and more efficiently after replacement of spark plugs. So,
always remember to replace spark plugs of car
to get better fuel mileage.
Air
filter
Air filters protect the
engine from ingesting foreign particles like dust and dirt present in the air.
Clogged air filter reduces gas mileage especially on the cars that are more
than 10 years old. Air filter replacement is an easy DIY
job.
Replace your car’s air filter
once a year to guarantee better gas mileage.
Chipping
and remapping ECU
Engine performance can
be increased by tuning up your car’s engine computer. Call your technician and even though it is
quite an expensive job, but believe me it makes wonder in contrast to car’s
fuel economy and engine performance.
Extra
Tips
You can definitely get
your fuel economy back if you replace these above mentioned auto parts but
there are some extra tips that will help you use every last drop of fuel you
pour into your fuel tank.
1. If you are in
traffic, it’s better to turn off the car engine. Idle engine gravely effects
fuel economy.
2. Plan your routes and avoid high traffic areas
with repeated traffic snarls.
3. Lighten up the load
you carry on your truck or car. We can all improve our car or truck’s fuel
economy if we clear out some space in cargo area.
4. Try other public
transports sometimes or share car with colleagues or friends.
5. Use cruise control feature and save up to 6
percent of fuel on highways.
6. Clean corroded
battery cables and reduce the labor an alternator have to do due to corroded
condition of cables.
7. Driving in the
highest gear possible is the without laboring engine is a fuel efficient way of
driving.
8. Use manufacturer’s recommended motor
oil and clean oil filter to improve your car’s gas mileage.
9. Revving the engine
before you switch the engine off needlessly wastes the fuel and washes oil down
from inside the cylinder walls.
10. Do net rest your
left foot on brake pedal while driving. Slightest pressure puts mechanical drag
on components wearing them down prematurely. This dragging also demands
additional fuel usage to overcome the drag.

Determine
various causes of flashing “check engine light” on your dashboard.

Rather than stopping
your car on one side of road and calling a tow truck, it’s better to diagnose
the problem yourself. “Check engine light” is very confusing indicator with no
information telling you what the problem is.
Do not ignore the
warning. You could end up damaging other auto parts along with the damaged one
too. In this article we would read about
check engine light and its significance and how to know what exactly is wrong
with your car when it flashes on.
Check engine light is
very confusing, so it is important to know what it means exactly. Check engine
light is basically a part of your car’s Onboard Diagnostics system.
It is basically an indicator to indicate malfunctioning of a computerized
engine management system. It is meant to indicate troubles with the engine,
charging system and breakdown.
When it finds a problem in electronic control
system that it can’t correct, the computer turns on the indicator of check
engine light. In the garage, when the mechanic places a small computer
underneath the dashboard it reads back the problem stated in the indicator.
Let us have a look at
some common malfunctions that cause the engine light to come on.
OXYGEN
SENSOR
Oxygen sensor generally
monitors the amount of unburned oxygen from the exhaust. The sensor sends its
data to the system computer which then uses this data to maintain right amount
of air fuel mixture for maximum performance of the engine.
A faulty sensor can
cause bad fuel mileage because it is not sending enough data to the computer.
Engines that have bad oxygen sensors often run roughly.
There are many reasons
that could contribute to a bad oxygen sensor. Over time oxygen sensors may get
depleted by sulfur, lead, fuel additives, oil ash etc. this contamination
causes the sensor to lose its ability to produce voltage and send right signal
or data to the computer. Bad emission system and low quality gasoline may also
speed up oxygen sensor failure.
You can change the
faulty oxygen sensor at aftermarket prices here.
You can take a professional’s help to install it.
CATALYTIC
CONVERTER
Catalytic converter is
one of the most expensive component of the exhaust system and extremely prone
to theft. Their main job is to reduce the exhaust gases. These converters
convert harmful gases like carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide to less harmful
hydrocarbons.
Strange performance of
your car and loud noises may indicate bad catalytic converter. Lack of regular maintenance
and servicing, failed oxygen sensor or spark plugs may lead to a bad catalytic
converter. The replacement of catalytic converter may cost of a lot of dollars.
It is better to resort to regular servicing.
But if it is a grave
need to replace a catalytic converter then you can also opt for aftermarket catalytic converters accessories of car because your car’s manufacturer
produced converters may cost near $2000.
MASS
AIR FLOW SENSOR
auto Mass air flow sensor
is used to find mass flow rate of air entering a fuel injected combustion
engine. The air- fuel ratio
can be controlled precisely, if the sensor is used in conjunction with the
oxygen sensor.
These sensors use live
wire to monitor and measure airflow. It tells the computer to add proper amount
of fuel based on air coming through the engine.
Improper MAF sensors
can lead to decreased fuel economy, stalling and rough idling of the vehicle
and increased emissions. When you encounter such problem it is wise to replace
MAF sensors as they are not that expensive as compared to catalytic converters.
These can be removed and cleaned. You
can also use second option of replacing your car’s air filter first.
This is because air
filter has direct impact on MAF sensors. The dust and dirt in the air filter
could be accumulating on the sensor thus reducing its performance and hence triggering
the check engine light.
SPARK
PLUGS
Spark plugs are very
important for your car to start. They provide ignition to the fuel. To do so,
spark even has to jump across at little gap. By time, spark plugs may get
damaged in the form of expanded gaps for the sparks to cross.
Thus worn spark plugs
can cause ignition problems, decreasing fuel economy or damage to other
internal systems. Spark plugs often misfire, when the plugs are failing. Your
car just won’t start without spark plugs.
As soon as you
encounter the problem of spark plugs, get them changed immediately. It is cheap
and easy to change them. You can also shop for aftermarket auto spark plugs
at cheap prices.
GAS
CAP
A missing or damaged
gas cap may cause the gas to evaporate. If you are out of gas often than usual,
then this trivial thing could be the problem maker for you.
The gas cap may have
been cracked or just wasn’t tightened well enough. auto Gas caps
can be replaced easily on cheap prices. Even a quick twist on the cap could
save you from heavy expenses.
Your check engine light
may be a sign of seriously spooky engine troubles. These are only some of
common possibilities, and there are plenty out there. Do something about the
engine light, before it gets too late.
